For the last year and a half I have owned a road bike, and to be honest I wish I had done it years before. It has been the catalyst for getting me fitter and for losing weight and I really enjoy my time out on the bike.

I now cycle to work everyday, a round trip of at least 25 miles. I built up to this over a few months and now the find this ride in relatively easy. I try to keep this up throughout the year, although when he winter weather is quite bad I do find it a little difficult.

This is year is seeing a bit of a shift change, along with my friend Chris, I have entered the Dragon Ride in South Wales this June. The ride is 180KM(118 miles) through some pretty aggresive countryside (3200m of climbing), all to be completed inside 9 and a half hours. This means that I need to increase my training, lose some more weight to try and have some chance of finishing this sportive.
